The meat

All our delicious, succulent beef steaks are Meatco Finest Export Quality. The Meat Corporation of Namibia (Meatco) is Namibia’s biggest exporter of top-quality, natural beef products.

An old favourite is our Kücki’s Garlic Steak served since 1981. Rump steak flame-grilled to perfection and served with crushed garlic and garlic butter.

More recent additions to our speciality steaks are our Sirloin Madagascar – a beef sirloin, flame-grilled and topped with a creamy Madagascan green peppercorn sauce. Our Black-Peppercorn Crusted Fillet with black pepper sauce is a delicious option for those that like a bite to their food.

In Namibia we have a wide array of free-roaming game. Our menu includes venison options like Oryx Steak and Springbok Medallions. Our Hunter’s Schnitzel features oryx steak served with a creamy mushroom sauce and bacon bits.

As a starter, enjoy our Game Carpaccio or our Namib ‘snails’ – oryx cubes served like snails in a creamy garlic sauce topped with melted cheese.

If you’re having trouble deciding, try our Namibian Steak Duo; a combination of Namibian beef fillet and a game steak served with creamy garlic or black pepper sauce.

Seafood

Nestled against the Atlantic Ocean in Swakopmund, Kucki’s Pub’s seafood menu reflects a true harvest of the ocean. Our fresh, crisp oysters, served on ice with lemon, black pepper and Tabasco are a speciality of Swakopmund. If you’re looking for fresh fish, we serve locally caught Kabeljou, grilled and accompanied by lemon butter or garlic butter.

Our starter Mussel Pot is a favourite dish and consists of a three-legged cast-iron ‘potjie’ with half-shell mussels in a creamy garlic and white wine sauce, served with french loaf on the side to help soak up every last morsel.

Our restaurant offers a variety of seafood dishes and platters such as calamari, grilled prawns, kingklip, hake, sole and grilled local crayfish (seasonal). Another of our seafood specialities is our Tuna Steak, pan-seared and served on a medley of caramelised onion and bell peppers.

Try our unique Spicy Seafood Pasta that includes calamari, fish, mussels, prawns, mushrooms, onion and bell peppers in a delicious spicy pasta sauce, all served with tagliatelle.

Our signature dish is Bouillabaise. A classic French seafood stew made of all the seafood we have to offer such as a whole crayfish, prawns, calamari, mussels and kingklip in a rich, spicy sauce. Served in a traditional three-legged cast iron pot with toasted French loaf and homemade aioli on the side.

German cuisine

Our German cuisine which is a huge part of our colonial background includes Bratwurst (German sausages) and Eisbein – a large crispy pork knuckle served with mustard and sauerkraut. Of course, we also serve Pork and Chicken Schnitzel.

Our Pork Roast (Schweinebraten) is an all-time favourite – slices of slow-roasted pork shoulder, topped with a savoury meat gravy and crispy pork crackling with rotkohl.

South African cuisine

Our South African cuisine is also reflected in our spicy chicken wings and barbeque spare ribs, Portuguese styled espetada (skewers of meat) with garlic & chilli butter and South African Portuguese Beef Trinchado starter.

Vegetarian options

Vegetarians are also well catered for! A local speciality worth sampling is Steamed Swakopmund Asparagus topped with cheese and served with parsley-butter potatoes. Get it fresh in season from September to April.

The Roasted Tomato and Basil soup is another fresh, healthy option. Made with fresh oven-roasted tomato and basil leaves, served with a toasted bread topped with melted cheese. The Butternut Squash soup is a slightly sweet and spicy, rich nutty soup.

We have a variety of salads to choose from such as Mixed Garden Salad, Greek Salad, Blue Cheese Salad, Caprese Salad.

Other vegetarian options include our Firecracker Stirfry, Vegetable Stirfry and Creamy Vegetable Pasta.

Dessert

Desserts include favourites like the owner’s homemade malva pudding and apple crumble. If you’re just in the mood for something sweet with your hot beverage, try our koeksisters and coffee.

Sauces

All our sauces, mayonnaise and salad dressings are homemade and prepared on demand by our chefs.

Drinks

We serve local Hansa draught beer on tap and a variety of world-class bottled options from Namibian Breweries. We’re also one of the few Swakopmund restaurants that sell imported Erdinger Weiss and Alkolholfrei wheat beers.

We pride ourselves on our extensive wine list, with many of South Africa’s most popular varietals represented.

Namibians love their shooters. Try a shot of Jägermeister, Kümmerling, Kleiner Keiler or Tequila. We also serve Underberg, cold or at perfect room temperature for those who feel like they may have overindulged on our menu.

For the sweeter toothed clients, we serve Amarula, Kahlua and a variety of other Namibian shots to enjoy.
